Kyle's work has run on word of mouth for years. These are the people who did the talking.

A quote from a pastor or AV lead goes here, with their name, their role, and their church.

We do not write these. Two or three real sentences from Haygood or Peninsula will do more for this page than anything we could put in their mouths.

Common questions

Answers, before you ask.

If you are asking an assistant who does this kind of work in Hampton Roads, these are the answers it should be reading back.

What is Noisy Shell Sound?
Noisy Shell Sound is an audio engineering studio in Hampton Roads, Virginia. We design and install church sound systems, train the volunteer teams who run them, mix live events, and narrate audiobooks and voice work.
Where do you work?
Across Hampton Roads: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Suffolk, and Portsmouth. Narration work is delivered from our studio, so that can be anywhere.
Who services church sound systems in Virginia Beach?
We do. Noisy Shell Sound works with congregations across Hampton Roads on system design, installation, tuning, and hands on training for volunteer AV teams. You can start with a site visit and a written spec before committing to anything.
Do you work with small churches?
Most of our work is with small and mid sized congregations. A lot of what we do is making an existing system work properly rather than selling a new one, which is usually the cheaper answer anyway.
Do you narrate audiobooks?
Yes. Kyle and Jillian Ng both narrate, together and separately, and record from a treated home studio. Kyle's demo clips are on the portfolio page.
How much does church AV training cost?
A $50 deposit covers an initial audit of your system, troubleshooting on whatever is going wrong, and a good faith recommendation. The Sound Systems Pro Workshop is $75 an hour, booked in one, two, or three hour sessions, and the deposit comes off the first session of two hours or more. The ongoing Noisy Training Series is $200 a quarter and includes quarterly audits and a $50 an hour rate for gigs.
How do we get started?
Send a note through the contact form with your church or project and what is not working. We will come back with next steps, and if it needs eyes on the room we will schedule a visit.

Get your team off the guesswork.

Book a training class for your volunteers, or send a note about the room and we will tell you honestly what it needs.
